My name is Henry K. Harris, and I had the opportunity to visit South Korea with my team members for an exciting business tour. It was a memorable journey filled with learning, cultural exchange, and professional networking.
Our first experience upon arrival was at the port of entry, Incheon International Airport. From the moment we landed, we were impressed by how organized, modern, and welcoming the airport environment was. The atmosphere was calm and efficient, and the airport staff were very helpful to international visitors.
At the immigration checkpoint, the officers were friendly and professional. They asked us a few routine questions such as the purpose of our trip, where we would be staying during our visit, and how long we planned to remain in the country. The process was straightforward and respectful. As part of the standard procedure, we also provided our fingerprints and had our travel documents checked.
After completing the immigration process, the officer politely welcomed us to South Korea. That simple gesture immediately made us feel comfortable and appreciated as visitors. It was a great first impression of the country and its hospitality.
One of the many amazing things that caught my attention during the visit was the train stations and the underground railroad system. The public transportation system in South Korea is incredibly modern, clean, and efficient. While visiting Seoul, we experienced the famous Seoul Metropolitan Subway, which connects different parts of the city through an extensive underground rail network. The train stations were spacious, well-organized, and equipped with clear signs in both Korean and English, making it easy for international visitors to navigate.
What impressed me the most was the punctuality and speed of the trains. They arrive exactly on time, and the stations are very clean and well maintained. Many of the underground stations also have shops, restaurants, and convenience stores, making them feel like small underground cities. The trains themselves are comfortable and quiet, and passengers are very respectful of one another.
We also learned about South Korea’s high-speed rail service, the Korea Train Express, commonly known as KTX. This high-speed train connects major cities across the country and allows travelers to move quickly and conveniently from one region to another. It is an excellent example of how advanced transportation infrastructure can support economic growth and tourism.
During the last day of our trip, we decided to visit the Korean electronic market to explore the technology sector. South Korea is globally known for its electronics industry, especially brands like Apple’s iPhone and Samsung smartphones. One surprising discovery was how affordable many high-quality smartphones were in the market. The prices were so attractive that I decided to purchase more than 10 pieces of high-quality phones to bring back home.
This experience showed me that South Korea is an ideal place for business, especially for electronics and technology products. The market is vibrant, innovative, and filled with opportunities for entrepreneurs and international traders.
Lastly, we had the opportunity to visit some universities with the help of our host organization, Global Member. The university officials we met were very welcoming and open to discussions about partnership opportunities, particularly in education and international collaboration. It was encouraging to see their willingness to work with us and explore future programs that could benefit students and institutions.
A big thank you to our host, Global Member, for making this trip possible. Their support, coordination, and hospitality helped make our visit productive, educational, and truly unforgettable.
My visit to South Korea was not just a business trip—it was an inspiring experience that opened my eyes to innovation, organization, and global partnership opportunities. I look forward to returning again in the future. ✈️🌏🚆
